Our Policy.

STANDARD EXCLUSIONS

•      Asbestos removal - Unless stated in the contract. Should the masking up of the area to make safe

•      Painting - If the client is painting, this includes all preparation - gap filling, filling nail holes, masking up and silicone. Unless stated in the contract

•      Excess rubbish - skip bins are for builders rubbish only

•      Major repair works for water damage - such as damage to floor joists

•      Items weighing over 100kgs will incur a cost (after assessment by lifting company) and paid by you the client

•      Tiles weighing more than 35 kg per box will incur a heavy lifting fee.

•      This fee applies to two-storey homes or high-rise buildings where materials must be carried upstairs or transported via a lift. Cost by 3rd party site assessment.

GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

•      Quotes are valid for 30 days from the signed contract date.

•      Building work must commence within 3 months to secure the cost and outlined details of the provided quote. If the jobs start date is 3 months from date of acceptance and there is a significant price increase on any products, we reserve the right to amend the quote. We will discuss this with you prior, and show proof. This would be variation to this contract.

•      Appliances warranties are to be honoured by either the manufacturer or the supplier. Kitchen & Home Renovations are not responsible for any appliance failure or malfunction.

•      If a complete visual inspection cannot be done, and there is a need for extra structural support, then this could incur additional costs.

•      Due to the nature of renovations it is not always possible to match finishings of timber, cornices o brickwork.

•      Any variations to above quoted work will result in a quoted variation tax invoice to be sent out with approval from you the client and approval from the Builder, Greg Smith or Designer, Mitchell Rudge.  The variation tax invoice will require to be paid prior to works commencing.

•      All care will be taken not to damage flooring, walls and other areas or items. Removing the existing kitchen, bathroom or laundry wall tiles may cause damage that will NOT BE COVERED by Kitchen & Home Renovations or be included in this Cost Build Up.

•      It is the owners responsibility to cover and/or move furniture and/or items around the quoted work area to alleviate the risk of damage. This includes covering furniture and items for dust, as it will be a work zone/site.

•      Project Photos and Reviews/Testimonials.  Sharing Our Work: You agree that we can take photos and videos of the project while we are working and once it is finished. We may use these images and any reviews you give us to promote our business. Where We Use Them: This includes using the photos and reviews on our website, social media (like Instagram and Facebook), in our showroom displays, and for industry awards or magazines.  We value your privacy. We will never publish your full name, street number, or any personal items (like family photos or car number plates) without asking you first.  We own the rights to the photos and videos we take. You wont be charged for us using them, and you won’t receive payment for their use.

•      Payment: If payments are not made on time this can delay the next stage of works. Final payment is due on practical completion. Until the final payment is made, the material still belongs to the builder and the builder has the right to retrieve all materials and the work will not be covered by QBCC Home Warranty Insurance. Any progress payments that are late will incur a penalty of $100 per week and ongoing until full payment is made.

•      Client agrees that for any warranty-related issues arising under this Agreement, the Contractor shall be contacted as the first point of service. Client shall provide the Contractor with written or verbal notice of the issue before engaging any third party to perform repairs or corrective work. Failure to notify the Contractor first may void the applicable warranty to the extent the Contractor is not given the opportunity to inspect and/or remedy the issue. Any costs incurred by a third party for warranty work will not be paid by the contractors, if not contacted first.

 

CANCELLATION & POSTPONEMENT POLICY

At Kitchen and Home Renovations Pty Ltd, we understand that circumstances change, and we evaluate all project cancellations on a case-by-case basis. However, the following conditions apply to all projects:

1. Cancellations After Check-Measure

If you cancel your project after the check-measure date, you will be responsible for the following costs, which will be deducted from your deposit:

·       Custom Products: The full quoted cost of any materials or cabinetry already ordered or manufactured.

·       Service Fees: Standard administration and check-measure fees.

Note: If your deposit does not fully cover these costs, Kitchen and Home Renovations Pty Ltd will invoice you for the remaining balance. This invoice is strictly payable within 7 days of issue.

2. Project Postponements & Price Adjustments

If you choose to postpone your project after materials have been ordered or manufactured:

·       Storage Responsibility: You must arrange, manage, and pay for the safe storage of all products.

·       Storage Location: Products can be stored on your project site or at a secure off-site facility of your choice until installation can proceed.

·       Price Expiry: If a postponement exceeds 60 days, Kitchen and Home Renovations Pty Ltd reserves the right to adjust the final contract price to account for any supplier price increases or additional labor costs incurred during the delay.

3. Extenuating Circumstances

If you cannot accept delivery or installation due to illness or other unforeseen emergencies, we will support you. Our team will work closely with you to arrange alternative storage options or reschedule your installation date.
